About
The show
Business Research Talk is a podcast about how business school research actually gets made. Each episode is a conversation with a researcher about a specific line of work: what they set out to do, what surprised them along the way, what they learned that did not make it into the paper, and what they plan to do next.
Guests come from business schools and from industry research teams, across strategy, finance, accounting, marketing, operations, organizational behavior, information systems, and economics. The show is for anyone interested in business research, whether you work in a school, in industry, or simply want to follow how ideas about organizations take shape.
The host
Seyed Emadi is Associate Professor of Operations Management at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. He started Business Research Talk because the conversations he has with colleagues about how their work actually came together are almost always more interesting than the polished talks they give about it.
How the show is made
Episodes are recorded remotely and lightly edited for clarity. Audio versions are released on all major podcast platforms, and video versions are released on YouTube. There are no ads, no sponsors, and no commitments asked of guests beyond the conversation itself.
